Another Company

In case you haven't heard Jason is now a proud employee of Boeing, one of 165,000 lucky souls. Now, this really wasn't by choice, it just kind of happened. One of the downsides working for a small, successful company is that eventually you will be working for a very large, (hopefully) successful company. Jason now finds himself in that enviable position once again. This is now the fifth company that Jason has worked for since 2002. However, before you think he can't hold down a job, he has only changed positions once, and that happened while he was at the same company. He has now been through three acquisitions and one change of company servicing the contract he is on.

So far nothing has really changed; and that's good. Usually a big company comes in and blows everything up in order to imprint their own corporate culture and processes, which basically has the effect of killing the corporate climate that made the small business a success. Then after six months to a year all the small company employees leave the big company due to all the changes and fustrations with the big company; and the big company is then left with a bunch of contracts to honor with no people to service them. The big company then starts to stuff whatever people it can find on the contracts and aren't familiar with the work and the big company runs the contract into the ground.

That's pretty much how it works. So far Boeing hasn't done that and they even have a "Value Creation Manager" sitting over at the Ravenwing space that is supposed to keep Boeing at bay and keep it from killing the Ravenwing corporate culture. Right now we are just hoping that Boeing will let Ravenwing continue "as is" and do what it does.

For this family personally it means that the benefits are better and there may be some opportunities now for Jason that didn't exist with the smaller company. He still has the same job and is really enjoying it, so we will see where it takes us.
