The Littles will never forget their first Drive-In Theatre experience. We had a sweet family form our new ward invite us to join them for a drive-in movie night. We loaded up the kids, some blankets and pillows, some treats and camping chairs and headed to Stephens City, VA about 45 minutes away. When we were almost there, we saw this huge line along side the road of cars waiting to get a spot inside the parking lot. We waited for about an hour inching closer in line. We made it in, thank goodness, found our spots and got comfy. As most of the drive-in's, this one had a little playground under the big screen. Mason and Lilly got a few wiggles out before the move began.
We scored! This location plays two movies for the price of one entry. They have two screens and play family friendly movies on one of them and moves for older folks on the other. The two movies we went to see were "Epic" and "Star Trek - Into Darkness". It was a super late night for us, but so worth the memory made. We made it home at 2:00 am and hit our beds pretty hard. Church didn't start till 11:00 am the next day, so we slept in as late as we could and made it to church for a wonderful day.
We will make the drive to this drive-in again to take advantage of only one in 400 of these kinds across the country. |
